AISTS Newsletter
April 2016

We’re so lucky to call Lausanne home. In April, we’ll be helping to welcome back SportAccord Convention as it returns to the city where it all began. In that same week, we’ll be laying the first stone to our new home, just across from the Sports Dorigny Centre and the shores of lac Léman.

At home and abroad, in the upcoming months, we will be hosting an open module, a discussion series and a world tour. So read on to find out how to learn, discover and connect with us.

The AISTS team.

Milestone: First Stone for AISTS’s new building

The ground has been levelled, the foundations have been poured and things are quickly taking shape for our new building. And, on Wednesday 20 April, the first stone will be laid at an official state ceremony. We’ll bring you all the pictures in the next edition.

A New Challenge: AISTS Athlete Scholarship

For athletes who decide to call it a day, it really is the start of something special. It’s a new challenge. The AISTS Athlete scholarship provides the opportunity to study the AISTS MSA with half the tuition covered. Were calling for applications until 15 May.

Open Module: Sustainable Sport Events

Learn how sustainability can drive innovation, how it can take a sport event to the next level, and how our US counterparts are doing a few things right in the major leagues. Spend two days in June learning from case studies that you’ll be able to replicate across your own work.

AISTS: Meet Us in a City Near You

Throughout the coming months, we’ll be circling the globe giving those interested in finding out more about the AISTS MSA the opportunity to meet with us in person. We’ll be making pit stops in Vancouver, Tokyo and Marseille.

AISTS MSA: "the most challenging sports masters"

In a packed Olympic Museum on 18th February, the 2015 AISTS MSA class graduated from the number one Sports Management Masters programme and what keynote speaker, IOC President Thomas Bach described as the most challenging sports masters programme.

Exclusive: Alumni Discussion Series

Open exclusively to AISTS MSA Alumni and current participants, were hosting a three-part twilight discussion series in April. Specially invited experts will tackle topics focused on Event Owner and Organiser Relationship, Road to Olympic Inclusion and Right-holders – Broadcasters relationships.

Unveiled: Client Team Projects

Team Projects are never dull and this year is no different. With clients including FIBA, FIFA, UIPM and more, this year’s challenges include measuring sponsorship performance and ROI, analysing fan’s preferred content on digital platforms, investigating ways to foster diversity and anti-discrimination and understanding national TV coverage.

2.5k raised: AISTS Canavan Cup enters 2nd year

The tradition continued this past February when the current AISTS MSA class organised the annual AISTS Canavan Cup: a sport event for alumni. With a tight budget and a tighter timeline, the class managed to attract over 30 athletes and raise over 2,500chf for the June Canavan Foundation.
